Fall 2013 Champs - East of Maine
Second - Chuck Newcombe, Lead - Cynthia Newcombe, Vice - Monique Penney, Skip - Jonathan Penney

Congratulations to our new league champs East Of Maine.  They completed an undefeated fall season to win the championship by defeating the CanAm Rockers in the finals by a score of 10-2

Sh Team 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Tot
C East Of Maine 2 0 0 2 1 2 2  1 10
CanAm Rockers 0 1 1 0 0 0 0  0 2

Team East of Maine had a fantastic season this season, and set a pretty high bar for the rest of us to catch up to.  I am not able to provide too many details of the match, as I was playing for 3rd place at the same time, but I know the game was far closer than the final score might indicate, with a few hammers thrown by CanAm Rockers barely missing their mark.  Perhaps Jonathan will post later a more detailed recount for those of you interested.

As skip of past champion Team Sip & Slides, I pass along Wilbur (I'll say happily but you know I really wanted to win again to keep Wilbur in Kentucky).  I hope that Team East of Maine will take Wilbur on a grand tour and keep us up to date on his travels.

(For those of you new to the site, our championship trophy has been nicknamed Wilbur, and it is the responsibility of the league champions to take Wilbur on a champions tour)

Wilbur Leaves Kentucky (Temporarily!)

Wilbur Buckles Up

Wilbur Buckles Up

It has been a fun 6 months, but sadly that time has come.  Wilbur buckled up, and headed off to Ohio.  Team Sip & Slides was eliminated from the championship last week, and was playing for 3rd place this week.  That means that Wilbur will be residing in Ohio for the next 6 months.  We can only hope that Wilbur can survive in such harsh conditions 🙂

Fall Curling League Update

I cannot provide an exact list of who everyone is playing (I am waiting on Jonathan for that) but I wanted to make sure everyone knew that this Saturday, October 26, is the last week and Championship week for our early fall league.  Games will be played at the same time as the always, at 6.  All teams in the league will play, no byes.

Look for an exact draw schedule in the next  day or two.
